Navjot Sidhu mentioned the matter was meant to divert consideration from the low turnout in Ferozepur.

New Delhi:

Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu aimed a jibe on the BJP over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s safety breach, saying he was “troubled” solely by a 15-minute wait. The farmers, he mentioned, needed to await greater than a yr to get the farm legal guidelines scrapped.

The convoy of PM Modi — who was visiting Punjab after a two-year hole after his authorities scrapped the farm legal guidelines — was caught on a flyover in Punjab’s Ferozepur yesterday as farmers blocked the freeway close by. He was pressured to return with out addressing a political rally in Bathinda the place he was headed.

“I need to ask Pradhan Mantri Sahab, our farmer brothers camped on the Delhi borders for over one yr… inform me, they stayed there for one and half-year. Your media didn’t say something,” Mr Sidhu was quoted as saying at a rally by information company Press Belief of India.

“And yesterday you needed to await quarter-hour… Why these double requirements,” he requested.

The farmers had deliberate a protest meet yesterday after listening to of the BJP rally in Ferozepur.

However they weren’t allowed to carry the protest, after which they went and squatted on the freeway.

Mr Sidhu’s get together has accused the BJP of enacting a petty political drama over a “so-called breach” within the PM’s safety. Senior Congress chief Randeep Surjewala mentioned the Prime Minister needed to cancel his rally in Ferozepur because the occasion was poorly attended.

Mr Sidhu, too, alleged that the entire occasion was to divert consideration from the low turnout on the Ferozepur rally.

“PM could not have addressed empty chairs like shameless Ex -M Captain (Amarinder Singh). Solely method out was to divert media consideration to the alleged safety risk & save humiliation of addressing 500 individuals on 70000 chairs,” he tweeted.

The BJP has accused the Congress of “murderous intent” and attempting to “bodily hurt” the prime minister.
